Witch Balls

Witch Balls (sweetgum seeds) have a long history of use in the witches arsenal. You can see their design is defensive. From the pointy spikes pointing in all directions, to it’s tough exterior, it is seen as a powerful protection amulet. Some people even place them in a pungr (pouch) around the neck or carry them in their pocket.

They are placed around the garden in thick lines to keep out rabbits and cats. Powdered they are used in potions and bottles to keep malicious magic away. They are placed whole on the altar to protect your various talismans and spells from unclean spirits. You place them in the window sills to repel negative or malicious magic sent your way and to keep witches out.
