Since next month in Skerpla we begin to move the herds into the summer pastures, it is first necessary to make offerings to the Landvaetter to assure the animals are protected while they are in the pastures. If you do not make offerings and move the animals into the pasture anyway you might stir up the anger of the vættir who reside there. Land Wights appreciate simple gifts. Most often we offer them a gift of porridge and milk. You can always leave other gifts such as the list below.

- Milk
- Honey
- Milk and Honey
- Water and Honey
- Coffee
- Oatmeal with milk, honey, and butter
- Porridge with cream
- Fresh fruits
- Fresh veggies
- Ale
- Mead
- Coin Money
- Tobacco
If you don’t have somewhere to offer them gifts you can do what many Scandinavian families do and simply pile up a mound of dirt, called a “Vattehog” and use that to set your bowl on and any other gifts you choose to leave.

Follow our site for more updates on how to honor the Land, House and Water wights and bring peace to your land.
